Vic: Police suspend detective after coroner finding = 2
The matter will now go before the Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP), which will decide
whether charges should be laid.
A police spokesman said Det Sgt Tanner had been suspended indefinitely with pay.
He said the force would stop paying Det Sgt Tanner, who has been stationed at Wangaratta in
Victorias north-east, if he is committed to stand trial.
Earlier, a spokeswoman for the OPP said she could not comment until they received the
coroners finding.
Further comment was being sought from the OPP.
