NSW: Terror accused Lodhi may face more than one trial

Sydney terrorist suspect FAHEEM KHALID LODHI could face more than one trial .. after
the crown agreed to try some of the charges against him separately.

LODHI .. a 35-year-old architect from Punchbowl .. is accused of plotting to bomb the
national electricity grid and Sydney defence sites.

He appeared in court today for a pre-trial hearing into nine charges .. including four
related to acts allegedly carried out in preparation for a terrorist attack.

Justice ANTHONY WHEALY was told the crown had agreed to a defence application for a
separate trial on the other five counts .. of making false statements under the ASIO Act.







Court staff will be screened as part of tight security arrangements when LODHI stands
trial on the four terrorism charges early next year.
